How to reward returning fans
A small, useful reward can give people a reason to revisit your work without turning every visit into a contest.
What should you reward?
Reward a repeat visit that already has a purpose: checking for a new episode, collecting a weekly resource, or seeing progress on a creator challenge. Keep the public content useful for anyone who does not sign in or collect points. Choose one small extra that you can deliver reliably to returning fans.
An illustrative reward ladder for a cooking creator
- First visit: the latest recipe is a public link at the top of the page.
- Return visit: a fan checks in when the next recipe arrives and earns points.
- Milestone: a short shopping-list template unlocks after the creator's stated points or streak threshold.
This is a setup example, not a claim about a real creator's results. The recipe stays accessible even if a visitor ignores the reward.
Build it in LinkStreaks
- In your page editor, add a Custom Link for the public resource and give it a specific label such as “Get Friday's recipe.” Put it first.
- Add an Unlockable Reward block. Choose a text, link, image, or gallery reward, add the content, and select a points or streak requirement. The Free plan includes one unlockable block.
- Set points on the eligible link or other action. Fans can also use the page's daily check-in to build a streak. Check the published page as both a visitor and a signed-in fan so the reward instructions are clear.
- Announce a real reason to return, such as the next recipe date. Explain the reward in plain language; avoid promising that a streak will automatically make someone loyal.
What the finished page gives fans
In the cooking example, anyone can open Friday's recipe from the first link. A signed-in fan can check in, see progress toward the shopping-list reward, and open that extra once the configured threshold is met. The public recipe remains available even if the reward is never unlocked. These are the expected page states for this setup, not measured retention results.
How do you know whether it helps?
Compare return visits, check-ins, reward unlocks, and clicks to the main resource against your baseline. Ask a few fans whether the reward was worth the effort. If almost nobody reaches the milestone, lower the requirement or offer something more useful. Plus and Pro include fuller creator analytics; on the Free plan, start with the basic page-view count and direct feedback.
